With spring on the horizon, it’s time to consider important energy tips that will help you to save money in the warm weather. Whether you use IDT Energy or another company, these tips can help you to save energy as the sun starts to shine more brightly.

1. Leaking Air: It’s possible that you are wasting money with air leaks. Look for them by looking for spider webs. Usually, when there is a web, there is also a draft. These leaks let a great amount of heat get lost through basements and other spaces that aren’t insulated.

2. Check Out Those Doors: Believe it or not, if you have a sliding glass door, a dirty track can ruin the seal on the door and create gaps where heat and cold can escape. Make sure to keep your sliding glass door tracks clean.

3. Refrigerator Seals: Your refrigerator gobbles up about 11% of your house’s total energy use. Make sure that the seals on the refrigerator door are clean and tight so that air isn’t escaping from this location and adding to your energy bill.
