It is a lot less costly than many people realize, to insulate one’s house.  Once this is done correctly and effectively, one can make significant savings on their IDT Energy Bills.  Just taking a look at Minneapolis, it seems that many homes there are severely lacking in adequate insulation which results in winter drafts and excess summer heat.  So it is worthwhile investigating how much it would cost to properly insulate one’s house.

According to a recent article in Downtown Journal, it can cost as little as $3,000 to kill the drafts in one’s home.  Sealing one’s attic also makes a big difference to house heating and air conditioning, and, with rebates, the price can really be quite attractive.  As well, if one makes it a priority to repair attic air leaks, as without doing so, ice dams can be created or worsened, which can lead to structural roof repair.

So ultimately, it really does pay to properly insulate one’s home.  For those who don’t want to feel a draft or encounter excess heat in the summer  months, as well as save on their IDT Energy bills, it is definitely worth at least getting a price estimate on improving insulation.
