Chimney balloons can help save on IDT Energy utility bills, since they stop heat exiting and prevent draughts from entering through the chimney.  The objects look a little strange, but if they are going to save money and insulate a property better, it may be worthwhile.

Since a chimney is basically a big hole from the top to the bottom of the house, it needs to be covered to alleviate insulation issues.  And often dampers corrode or don’t close tight enough around the edges which prevents them from insulating properly.  And this is exactly where the beauty of the chimney balloon which is like a plug (but for the chimney).  One can install it themselves and once it’s there it’s pretty unobtrusive.  Ultimately, it will make a great saving for one’s utility bill.

Irrespective of whether the days are scorching hot or one is basking in pleasant weather conditions, there are many ways to save on one’s IDT Energy utility bills.
