At the end of a long day at the office, what better way to unwind than by sitting in your garden and enjoying the warm summer nights?  Take a magazine, or your favorite book/Tablet and transport yourself back to those long carefree summers you enjoyed as a teenager.  To make the experience even better, install some solar centre solar landscape spot lights, that, at minimal energy costs will add maximum light to your outdoor experience.

These lights comprise six super bright LEDs in each light fitting and can light up to a range of 20 meters, so you get all the light you need, without significantly increasing your IDT Energy or other utility service provider bill.  As well, they can be put up to five meters away from the solar panel, meaning they can be in shaded areas where they wouldn’t normally be charged during the day.  Nothing needs to be plugged into the mains as the lights charge by day and automatically ignite at night.

A lot of wasted time and energy can go into home organization.  But there are many ways of keeping both of these to a minimum.  For example, it saves a lot of time (and water) to just put dishes into the dishwasher rather than pre-wash them, but a lot of people believe the pre-wash is vital for a clean wash.  This does not necessarily have to be the case.  Thus, for those who want to conserve energy while   keeping their utility bills down – no matter what service provider they are subscribed to, IDT Energy or any of the others – it is worth looking into the different appliances that may be able to help with this.

Here are a few tips on time and energy savings.  First, LG’s TrueSteam technology uses high-pressure steam particles to remove any food particles.  Since this eliminates the need for pre-washing, this saves time and energy. When it comes to the laundry, try and opt for the faster cycles.  When using a machine that has these options, this can make a huge difference in electricity used.

There are many other devices and appliances that are often being newly marketed that can really make a difference vis-a-vis time- and energy-conservation.

Chimney balloons can help save on IDT Energy utility bills, since they stop heat exiting and prevent draughts from entering through the chimney.  The objects look a little strange, but if they are going to save money and insulate a property better, it may be worthwhile.

Since a chimney is basically a big hole from the top to the bottom of the house, it needs to be covered to alleviate insulation issues.  And often dampers corrode or don’t close tight enough around the edges which prevents them from insulating properly.  And this is exactly where the beauty of the chimney balloon which is like a plug (but for the chimney).  One can install it themselves and once it’s there it’s pretty unobtrusive.  Ultimately, it will make a great saving for one’s utility bill.

It seems that America’s recession as generated some good news for people seeking ways of making cuts on the IDT Energy or other utility service provider bills.  According to a survey conducted by the Deloitte Center for Energy Solutions, Americans are trying to find more ways to save money because of the recession and one method they are focused on is energy-efficiency. If conducted well, this will have a domino affect of reducing one’s IDT Energy bills.

Even while America and the global economy is seeing some recovery, there is still a fear that things could go awry again and thus people are wary of getting too comfortable; hence they want to keep reducing costs wherever possible.  Given that there are many ways for one to reduce their utility bills – both at home and in the office – people are doing this, without really feeling on it.  Indeed, according to Vice Chairman of the Energy and Resources Sector at Deloitte LLP, Greg Aliff, “the recession is profoundly changing energy habits for both businesses and consumers. In November 2011 in Pennsylvania, the first Met-Ed and Penelec customers were enrolled by IDT Energy.  When it began servicing the community, IDT sent a 1,000,000 piece media insert into every residential home in the serviceable footprint.   Historically, the consumer had no choice (except for deciding whether to use Met-Ed or Penelec as their utility company including the generation and delivery of electricity to one’s home or work).  Now that has changed.  Thanks to the inauguration of the  Pennsylvania Electric Choice program, residents can choose their electricity generator supplier. Met-Ed/Penelec will continue to deliver one’s electricity to them and maintain the poles and wires.  The only difference is, consumers will be given the chance to choose their electric generation supplier by looking at the lowest price, best quality services, or a combination of the two.

Irrespective of whether the days are scorching hot or one is basking in pleasant weather conditions, there are many ways to save on one’s IDT Energy utility bills. People often think that it is just during the summer months that one can really make easy savings on utility bills, but actually the same is true for the spring.

For example, spring is the best time to check that one’s roof has proper ventilation.  Quality attic ventilation can assist in the reduction of heat buildup as the weather gets warmer which will ultimately cut cooling costs.  This leads to how to save on electricity bills vis-à-vis the air conditioner unit.  It is crucial that the air conditioner is subject to a once-a-year inspection.  Springtime is the perfect opportunity to do this.  As well, once the weather gets warmer it is likely one is using their furnace much less so if it seems that it is in need of replacement, this is the time when sales are likely to take place so take advantage of it.

So use the spring to really make a difference to your long-term IDT Energy utility bills.  Save money today.

It is a lot less costly than many people realize, to insulate one’s house.  Once this is done correctly and effectively, one can make significant savings on their IDT Energy Bills.  Just taking a look at Minneapolis, it seems that many homes there are severely lacking in adequate insulation which results in winter drafts and excess summer heat.  So it is worthwhile investigating how much it would cost to properly insulate one’s house.

According to a recent article in Downtown Journal, it can cost as little as $3,000 to kill the drafts in one’s home.  Sealing one’s attic also makes a big difference to house heating and air conditioning, and, with rebates, the price can really be quite attractive.  As well, if one makes it a priority to repair attic air leaks, as without doing so, ice dams can be created or worsened, which can lead to structural roof repair.

So ultimately, it really does pay to properly insulate one’s home.  For those who don’t want to feel a draft or encounter excess heat in the summer  months, as well as save on their IDT Energy bills, it is definitely worth at least getting a price estimate on improving insulation.
